Founded in 1995, Vivo entered the telecommunication and consumer electronics industry with landline phones and wireless phones. The company has also grown in India and Myanmar, with Vivo X6 being its top-selling smartphone. Although most of its handsets hover around the $300 mark, which is ‘premium’ by Chinese market standards, the company sold over 45 million units in 2015 and achieved an over 150% sales growth.Currently, 20,000 operators work in vivo, and 3,000 engineers are in four R&D centers in Dongguan, Shenzhen, Nanjing, and Chongqing.
