Who is Kate Gosselin?

Kate Gosselin was born on March 28, 1975, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She achieved international prominence as the mainstay of the reality television program, Jon & Kate Plus 8, endorsed by the TV channel, TLC. However, the immense popularity of the series catalyzed Kate’s split from her husband Jon Gosselin and ultimately led to their divorce.  The TV channel ‘Discovery Health’ was inspired to create a program, ‘Surviving Sextuplets and Twins’ based on Kate and her family. The show generated so much publicity that the ‘Discovery Communications’ owned channel filmed another program titled, ‘Sextuplets and Twins: One Year Later’. The high TRP ratings of the show opened the floodgates for Kate leading to a scintillating spell in the reality TV industry. TLC, another Discovery Communications TV channel, entered into a pact with Kate and Jon to feature them in ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8’—an avant-garde reality show based on the Gosselin family.
