Who is Audrey Hepburn?

Audrey Hepburn’s career evolved and she appeared in several signature roles, as the Belgian Sister Luke in Fred Zinnemann’s The Nun’s Story, based on the memoirs of novelist Kathryn Hulme’s lifelong companion; as the prostitute Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Blake Edwards’s film version of Truman Capote’s novel; as Eliza Dolittle in the musical My Fair Lady, directed for the screen by George Cukor; or as the «lady in distress» Regina Lampert in Stanley Donen’s Hitchcockian thriller, Charade.  At the height of her career, and after a fifth Oscar nomination, Hepburn retired from cinema. She only made sporadic appearances, as in Richard Lester’s Robin and Marian, playing Lady Marian to Sean Connery’s Robin Hood; and in Always, Steven Spielberg’s remake of A Guy Named Joe, which was her last film, preferring to dedicate her time to children, working for Unicef.  Audrey Hepburn also won the British Bafta award for Charade, The Nun’s Story and Roman Holiday; the Italian David di Donatello for My Fair Lady, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and The Nun’s Story; the Golden Globe for Roman Holiday; and the Lifetime Achievement award from the United States Screen Actors Guild, among many other prizes.
