What is the meaning of The Hierophant card?
In a general sense, he represents the most unforgiving aspect of society; the one that stones and burns those who do not conform. It can be telling the querent that they are either in danger of trying to be different, speak up or blow the whistle–or it can tell them that they, themselves, are being far too inflexible in their point of view. Too harsh in their judgment of another’s failings, weaknesses or individuality. The Hierophant always chooses the right path, and is one that chooses integrity, and doing things a traditional way. Often times The Hierophant represents beginnings. So this may be the start of a new job, or a new relationship, or taking a job or relationship to the next level. When an elevated status is the interpretation of this card, it is often traditional. So if you are taking a relationship to the next level, for example, this card will symbolize a traditional way, such as through an engagement or marriage. The Hierophant is faith based, so a church experience may be what this card represents as well.
