What happened prior to the gang violence in DLSU Inc Vs. Court of Appeals?
The case study DLSU, Inc. vs. Court of Appeals, GR No. 127980, 19 December 2007 was primarily about the petitioners from the Tau Gamma Phi gang. Based from the testimonies given, it all started a week before March 29, 1995 when James Yap was having dinner alone in Manang’s Restaurant near De La Salle University when he suddenly overheard two men bad mouthing the Domino Lux and appeared to be very furious. At first, he ignored the oblivious statements of the two men conversing. When he arrived in his boarding house, he reluctantly relayed all the information he witnessed to his two brods who was earlier also having a meal at the same restaurant. The three of them, together with four other persons went back to Manang’s and confronted those two men who were still apparently in the restaurant. It was revealed then that one of those men were part of the Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity however, no form of violence occurred during that night.
