How important is the use of the internet?
When the Internet was created in the 1980s, its primary goal was to build endless chains of connection for the development of the human race. The Internet is also one of the pinnacles of globalization, since more people worldwide are connected, and messages can be sent within seconds regardless of location. However, the Internet is a double-edged sword, and it is on the user discretion on how Social Media will affect his or her life, whether may it be positive or negative. Furthermore, Social Networking Sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat are pathways in building careers, relationships, and personal beliefs. It also promotes unity in terms of it being free for public use regardless of age, gender, race, religion, and social background. With all that being said, Social Media can also be a ground for abuse and crimes. If more people have access to it, then the chances of cyber-crimes happening online are higher. There are numerous cases and scandals seen on the news every day regarding stolen identities, or a teenager claiming his due to cyber-bullying, and this has caused a social disruption to worried parents.
