What are some examples of China's growth?

The major example of China’s growth and
influence in the international community is its economy; its transformation from an isolated command economy to one of the largest market forces in the world in a space of 30 years is unparalleled in history. China has become the factory of the world. However, much of China’s economy remains in state hands, including SOEs and there is ongoing government supervision of the financial sector and currency trade.
The Chinese economy grew at an average 9-10% in the past ten years. It greatly influences trade talks, drowns the world with its goods from textiles to computers. In 2008, it had US$1.9 trillion in reserves, largely in US dollars.
China has changed its policies on free trade in the last decade, strongly supporting WTO trade liberalization efforts, is more willing to strike out on its own and negotiate preferential trade agreements both bilaterally and with regional organizations.
