Conceptual complexity is how leaders structure their views of the world. Those who see great deal of ambiguity in their surroundings and believe that multiple factors explain particular events are more “conceptually complex” than leaders who see the world around them in terms of a few clearly defined characteristics. Those high in complexity generally see many possibilities and believe.  Nationalism is a state of mind that gives primary loyalty to one state to the exclusion of other possible objects of affection. Nationalists glorify their own state and exaggerate its virtues while denigrating others. Because nationalists develop an ego involvement with their own state, they tend to defend its acclaimed right to superiority.  It is an individual’s need to have influence or prestige when interacting with others.
