What is On The Job (2013)
The movie On The Job (2013) portrays the current condition of how corrupt the Philippine government is. Hitmen, Mario and Daniel, are hired by high-ranking government officials to just to preserve their public image, even if this means taking the lives of people. On the other hand, Francis Coronel and Joaquin Acosta are working towards investigating the recent deaths that are rumored to have connections with the corruption cases. In the end, despite the charm and effort of the actors who played the “good guys” in the film, Francis Coronel shared the same fate of his father, who also died amidst investigating the corruption happening in the government, and Joaquin Acosta demoted from his position in the PNP. Despite it being bittersweet, the ending was satisfying because it was realistic. The “bad guys” always win in the end, and that is just how life plays out in reality. On The Job won several awards after its premier.
