The company also operates a bridal brand and garden center stores. The wholesale division makes, sells, and distributes clothing under the Free People label for more than 125 of its own stores and about 1,900 department and specialty stores worldwide, including Macy’s, Nordstrom , Bloomingdale’s,Lord & Taylor , and Selfridge’s . Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie accounted for 28.8 percent and 0.3 percent of Urban Wholesale’s total revenue in 1992, according to the company prospectus. By 1994, goods from Urban Wholesale shipped outside the United States, particularly to Japan, comprised 6 percent of total sales. Merchandise made in the United States represented about 20 percent of the division’s production.
