What is Wendy’s?

What is Wendy's?

Dave Thomas was inspired to create Wendy’s by his previous experiences as a restaurant employee/employer and his love for a simply delicious burger.   Furthermore Dave Thomas previous to starting Wendy’s had worked many restaurant jobs and had even dropped out of high school to continue working at The Hobby House.  Dave also joined the army for a while and upon return he picked back up his job at the Hobby House.  While working at The Ranch House, Dave met a man named Colonel Harland Sanders who was the founder of KFC.  Mr. Sanders thought Dave Thomas had a lot of potential and invited him to join a business partnership if he could turn a few failing KFC restaurants around.  Dave quickly accepted the challenge and managed to turn the once empty diner to one full of customers.  He also made a handsome profit that he used to purchase many more franchises.  In 1968 Dave realized his true dream wasn’t just to own restaurants, he wanted to own his own restaurant.  With that, he sold his KFC restaurants and Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers was opened in Columbus Ohio. Today, Wendy’s have franchises all over the world in countries like UAE, Philippines, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Panama, Guam, New Zealand, Venezuela, and Brazil.
