Who is Anna Wintour?

Anna Wintour, is the English editor-in-chief of American Vogue, a position she has held since 1988. In 2013, she became artistic director for Condé Nast, Vogue’s publisher. Anna became interested in fashion as a teenager. Her career in fashion journalism began at two British magazines. Later, she moved to the United States, with stints at New York and House & Garden. She returned home for a year to turn around British Vogue, and later assumed control of the franchise’s magazine in New York. After only two years as editor of British Vogue, Wintour was appointed editor-in-chief of the US edition of Vogue. Through this position, she has become an icon in the fashion industry.  Wintour is noted for her philanthropic work, as well. She is a trustee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and is also a key fundraiser for various AIDS charities. She has also made it a top priority to recognize Vogue’s mission in social terms.
