How will nationalism affect the China Dream?

Since China has long been known as a victim in a historical sense, the Chinese nation may feel a strong sense of nationalism that would eventually turn into aggression. This is demonstrated in the increasing provocation to other states regarding neighboring seas and non-cooperation with the rulings of international judicial bodies. Moreover, President Xi Jinping has spoken about a “strong-army dream” which could create tension in the international community because it is creating an image of aggression and hostility in East Asia and Asia Pacific. Though in a domestic sense, nationalism would be deemed as a more positive concept since it aims to awaken the patriotism in the common people towards working for a common goal laid down by the paramount leader. The different classes existing in the country would be more fervent in playing their respective roles in the society, commencing a nationwide movement towards development. Nevertheless, there are still some doubts about the set of goals because of the existing corruption in the government.
