What is the China Dream?

What is the China Dream?

The China Dream, the hallmark of President Xi Jinping’s Administration, aims to achieve the Two Centenaries, which are goals that will shape a Xiaokang, or a moderately well-off society by 2020, or the year of the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party. This concept is derived from Confucianism and Socialist Ideology where citizens can reap the benefits of high standard living due to the increase of G.D.P per capita. And by 2049, or the year of the 100th anniversary of the People’s Republic, China should have become a “strong, democratic, civilized, harmonious, and modern socialist country” that is also urbanized, giving at least 70% of China’s population of roughly one billion decent homes and jobs by the year 2030.  Modernization means China regaining its position as a world leader in science and technology as well as in economics and business; the resurgence of Chinese civilization, culture and military might; and China participating actively in all areas of human endeavor.
