How to create a unique character for a story?

We’ve all read about certain kinds of characters: the ambitious co-worker, the brainy honor student, the doting grandmother. To make these characters unique, give them conflicting traits that you don’t normally find in the stereotype. Create multi-dimensional characters by giving them traits that don’t usually go together, and you’ll have a fresh take on an old cliché. Aside from that, The past is alive in all of us. The past has trained us to react in certain ways. If your character was used or shamed as a child, that’s going to affect him as an adult: he might seek solace in a fantasy world, he might fear intimacy and pursue novelty and intensity instead. In addition, create a unique physical description that would make your readers think of an image that would make their imagination work. However, creating characters is part of what makes a story personal. One of the most important rules is that there is no rules in creating stories since it is a person’s own thoughts manifested through wordplay.
