What is a foreign policy?
Foreign policy according to the Foreign Service Institute of the Philippines is the set of rules or guidelines articulated by the government of a country in order to promote its interest through the conduct of its relations with other countries. Foreign Policy is also the course of action and decisions relating to them that a state undertakes in its relations with other states in order to attain national interest. The policy is also dynamic as it is a continuous social and political process and unless it is viewed in this respect, certain flaws may inevitably result by those who believe that it is stilted, firm, and permanent. The study of foreign policy may be approached in two ways, ideological approach, or the approach h where leaders carry out policies connected to sentiments and ideologies. While the analytical approach relies on the factors of the situation and how can the government solve a problem with the policy.
