Why is the culture in the Philippines slowly westernizing?

The Philippines has been colonized by different foreign colonizers for almost 400 years in the past. This has paved way for Filipinos to eventually lose the identity they have before the colonizers came to the Philippines. Modern Filipinos are actually confused on who they are and which cultures to idolize. Some Filipinos think that living a more westernized life is great, others find Japanese and Chinese culture fascinating, and some are influenced by their middle-eastern heritage. The Philippines is known to have a colonial mentality. The USA has an approval rate for almost 80%, and most people are hoping to migrate to America someday. Aside from that, most schools require the English language is the main language used in school, making this a cultural indicator that a person speaking English is automatically viewed as an intellectual person. Most Filipinas also idolize western celebrities, and often follow western trends. This should be alarming to Filipinos because they need to realize that having their own identity deviating from foreign influencers is an important aspect in keeping the Filipino heritage alive through generations.
