Why is the world flat according to Thomas Freidman?

Friedman discusses ten forces that flattened the world, with the first event on the list being the collapse of the Berlin Wall in 1989. Aside from that, the list also tackles not just the death of the divide, but also the birth of a creative platform available for everyone.  The internet has become a medium for various online activities the world has yet to experience, such as research and development, entertainment, and employment. Friedman also highlighted the importance of Work Flow Software, or the beginning of smarter machines that can become an arena for people to co-operate. Consequently, other events took place with the help of the first three factors, such as Uploading, Outsourcing, Offshoring, Supply-Chaining, Insourcing, In-forming, and The Steroids. The book also analyzed the Triple Convergence or the factors that prompted the flattening of the world, America and Free Trade, The Quiet Crisis or the beginning of the lack of interest of the younger generations toward science and technology. Chapter Twelve also touches the topic of countries that are not yet involved with Globalization. And lastly, the book proposed the Dell Theory of Conflict Prevention. Friedman stated that “No two countries that are both parts of a major global supply chain, like Dell’s, will ever fight a war against each other as long as both are part of the same global supply chain.”.
