Nowadays, the refugee crisis has been more relevant than it was years ago. With the help of social media, people can now have easier access to what’s happening in other countries. From national elections to typhoon disasters and from economic news to refugee crisis news, people get to have a glimpse of those from newspapers, articles online, and TV report. These news reports affect our daily lives and how we view the world. According to Amnesty International, around 6-12 million people worldwide are refugees. These people flee due to armed conflict and life threatening situations. People like us, who are from countries where we are kept safe by the government, can help with the refugee crisis through donating to the authorized organizations who provide aid and relief, supporting local projects and fundraising who aim to help make the lives of the refugees better, and by educating yourself and other people about the urgency of the situation. Amnesty International offers an online course free for everyone about the basics of the refugee crisis and what we can do to treat the situation with sensitivity. Helping the refugee crisis need not be life threatening or costly. But through little donations and raising awareness for other people can help make a big difference.
