Responsible pet owners must know the foods that are toxic for their dogs. Some foods might cause them to become triggered, get sick, or die. Foods like, chocolate, Grapes and Raisins, Macadamia nuts, Xylitol, Peaches and Plum, and tobacco are extremely poisonous for dogs. Chocolates are high in caffeine, and theobromine and theophylline can cause damage to the dog’s heart and nervous system. Grapes and Raisins can cause severe liver damage and kidney failure. Consumption of Macadamia nuts can weakness and damage to digestive and muscle system. Xylitol can trigger seizures, liver failure, and death to pets even if this is safe for consumption for humans. Peaches and Plums can cause choking and contain amygdalin, which is toxic to pets. And lastly, tobacco and nicotine, in general, has bad effects on both pets and humans. This damages the dog’s digestive and nervous system and can make their heart rate increase which will eventually lead to passing out and death. Before owning pets, research first because it is better to be safe than sorry. It is best to consult your local vets on what are the right foods to feed your pets.
