What to do when you’re being catcalled?

Women all over the world and even some men endure the hardships of being catcalled. Some people think that being catcalled is only a compliment. But these people do not understand that “Your dress looks nice on you today.” and “Nice ass.” have a huge difference. These lewd comments make people uncomfortable especially if the person who catcalled you was just a stranger you saw in the streets. Being catcalled gives some people the anxiety of getting hurt by that person, thus, this greatly affects their lives. One of the things you can immediately do when you’re being catcalled is to just simply walk away especially when you’re alone and in the middle of the night. Picking your battles is a much smarter decision because you never know if the catcaller is armed or with a group of other people who can potentially harm you. If that catcaller follows you, go to the nearest safe place like a convenience store or a building where a security guard can help you alert the police about the threatening situation.
